Women’s Film Night: an evening of empowering films by and about women, including the film made on the Reel Women course the same week – part of Oxford International Women’s Festival.
This evening we will be screening "Ramala Prison" - a short documentary about a UK group, campaigning for Palestinian women, who were held in an Israeli detention center. They secretly documented their imprisonment. One of the women will be there to talk about the film and updates on the current Palestinian situation.
There will also be a screening of part of "It's A Dog's Life" - an award winning documentary about an undercover investigation into Europe's largest animal testing facility which was broadcast 20 years ago this month. The diarist will be there to discuss her experiences.
The film made on the Film Oxford Reel Women course will be about local author Sylvia Vetta whose latest book ‘Oxford Castaways 3’ will be launched on the 9th March. This will be the final castaways book and the proceeds will go to Sobell House.
Open Screen is an monthly event where you can watch and discuss locally made films, meet other filmmakers – ranging from beginners to professionals – and hear about upcoming Film Oxford courses.
